MonkeyHub
What it is
An AI workbench for architectural design. The AI proposes candidates; people review, annotate and decide on a Board. Models, drawings and version history stay in one project.

Highlights
- 2026-10-20DecisionKaiwen asked to “turn this set of Python into a smart Hub tool”. The Hemp drawing script became the construction-section skill, so far the only skill in steady reuse.

Drawings, versions and releases
- 2026-07-30VersionRepository baseline before a full code review; the 10 defects the review found were fixed the same day.
- 2026-10-19VersionFirst skill run: a site color card, approved on the page, came out as an 18-color vector PDF in 6 seconds.
- 2026-10-23VersionConsolidated prototype v2: a new app shell, four card types, annotation replay, errors the machine fixes first and reports afterwards, and a Ctrl K palette with 360 entries.

- Question
- When architects and AI design together, how can we cut repeated explanation, manual transfer and rework?
- Method
- Use it on real coursework and design projects. The AI proposes candidates; people annotate and decide on the Board. Drawing routines that keep coming back become skills that run only after approval. Wherever the work gets stuck, the gap is logged and fixed in the next batch.
- Claims
A drawing routine can become a skill that runs only after approval. The first one produced an 18-color vector PDF 6 seconds after approval, and the Hemp section script, turned into the construction-section skill, has stayed in use since. (ev-04, ev-05)
- Limitations
- As of late October 2026, the real work delivered with it is concentrated in one project (Hemp), all driven by Claude Code sessions behind the scenes. The Hub's own chat has not yet taken on a real task.

Failures and superseded routes
No records in this view yet.
- Stack
- Python back end (separate packages for the project runtime, modeling, drawing output and print preparation) with a single-page front end. Geometry runs on OCCT, with connectors for Rhino and Blender.
- Interfaces
- HTTP API and MCP tools (studio_schema, studio_request, visual_review).
- Install
- Windows desktop installer; each version installs into its own folder and updates automatically.

Components
- MonkeyArchmodule3D modeling, typed design edits, candidate execution and relation checks.
- MonkeyDiagrammoduleDrawing projection and layout. Its page editor opens from the Board for reading and annotating documents.
- MonkeyBoardmoduleThe project board: drawing sheets, renders, component cards and annotations side by side. Every save is a version that cannot be changed.
- MonkeyFabmodulePrint preparation: unifies units and scale, splits parts to fit the printer, exports STL and sends sliced jobs over the local network. It never starts a print by itself.
